Biographies of Presenters
Dr. Eduardo Montaña is a Board Certified Preventive Pediatric Cardiologists and one of the few Pediatric Cardiologist nationally who is board eligible in Clinical Lipidology, the diagnosis, management and treatment of Pediatric Cholesterol disorders. Dr. Montaña completed both his training in Preventive Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology at the Emory University School of Medicine as well as his Masters of Public Health at the world renowned Rollins School of Public Health. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics having attained his General Pediatric training at the University of Miami.
In the early nineties, Dr. Montaña was awarded and completed an appointment at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Center for Environmental Health and Health Promotion in the Epidemiology Intelligence Service. He later served on faculty at Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. He remains an active staff member of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Mr. Green is a 30-year veteran of the Information Technology and Telecommunications Services industries. Currently, Mr. Green is a Senior Partner at Verity Partners, an Alpharetta-based Management Consulting firm. Specializing in Complex Program Management and IT Execution. Mr. Green has led numerous high-profile turnarounds business startups and organizational improvement programs for many notable Global 1000 companies. He has worked across many industries including Manufacturing, Financial Services, Aerospace and Defense, Air Transportation and Life Sciences. Previous to Verity Partners, Mr. Green was the Global Vice President of Solution Development for Xerox Business Services. Mr. Green has his BA in Education from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.
He is also a Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP), a member of the Technology Association of Georgia, the Air Force Association, the Chairman of the North Fulton Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Council and a former member of the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industry Association. His son, Nathaniel Green graduated the STEM Academy in 2015 and is now a Freshman at Virgina Tech in the Air Force ROTC and the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, studying Mechanical Engineering.
STEM Academy Lecture Series
On January 20th we had the first STEM lecture series and panel discussion featuring Dr. Eduardo Montaña a pediatric cardiologist and moderated by Mr. Cary Green.
Mr. Green has being instrumental in the initiation, design, and coordination of professionals for the lecture series, in addition to graciously volunteered his time and expertise to help moderate the lecture series.
We have three more lectures set up so far targeting women in science, information technology, and engineering fields in STEM. Lecturers answer questions posed by the STEM students, followed by an open forum panel discussion.
