STEM EXPO DAY
Students who intended to wait until after the Expo to apply, should go ahead and apply. The application is non-binding. If a student is accepted into the STEM Academy, they may decide to attend the FCHS STEM Academy or rescind their acceptance; however, late applications will not be accepted, due to Out of District Deadlines.
STEM Application Deadline: moved due to weather power outages to Dec 15th, 5:00 P.M.
The FCHS STEM Academy is focused on making connections between rigorous academic core and innovative career-technical course offerings to engage students in relevant, real-world studies.
As part of the Expo camp, students will compete as a team in a series of themed challenges, with current STEM student mentors. The Challenges will be set up to show students what kinds of experiences they will have in the STEM Academy Learning Community. Participants will interact with current STEM Academy student mentors,so they can ask their questions in an informal manner. Due to limited availability, the camp is only open to current 8th grade students. We will be offering other STEM camps this summer for other grade level students.
In an effort to give potential students insight and information regarding the academy, we have created a STEM Expo day to allow potential students to immerse themselves in the STEM Academy for a day. Space is limited, so students will be enrolled in the one-day camp based on the order of receipt of the Expo Registration and payment.
Participation in this event is only to help students make an informed decision about applying to the STEM Academy. Student attendance at the STEM Expo does not impact application status in any way. The purpose of the event is so students can make a more informed decision about applying to the Academy.
